Istanbul Kültür University (IKU), established by the Kültür College Education Foundation (KEV) in accordance with the Law No. 4281 adopted by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey on July 9, 1997, aims to ensure that the State of the Republic of Turkey and the Turkish nation achieve their unchanging goal of "exceeding the level of contemporary civilization". It provides quality higher education services with the awareness that it is possible for our young people to receive a qualified education.
IKU; In the 1997-1998 Academic Year, with 157 students and an academic staff of 32, there were three departments: Faculty of Science and Letters (Mathematics-Computer Department), Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (Department of Business Administration), Faculty of Engineering and Architecture (Departments of Civil Engineering and Computer Engineering). It started its activities at the faculty and Vocational Schools of Business Administration and Technical Sciences (Business Administration Program and Computer Programming). IKU gave its first associate degree graduates from the Business Administration and Technical Sciences Vocational School programs in 1999, and its first undergraduate graduates (38 graduates) and first postgraduate graduates (10 graduates) in 2001. At the end of the 2021-2022 Academic Year, a total of 2973 graduates were graduated, including 887 from associate degree programs, 1786 from undergraduate programs, 300 from master's degree and 15 from doctoral programs. The total number of graduates of IKU between 1999 and 2022 reached 34165.
İKÜ provides services in three separate campuses on the E-5 Highway and TEM Highway, on a total area of 127966 m2, including 70216 m2 closed and 57750 m2 open area. Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Art and Design and Graduate Education Institute in the Ataköy building within the Bakırköy Campus. Vocational School in Incirli building; It hosts students of the Faculty of Law, Vocational School of Justice, Department of Foreign Languages and Faculty of Health Sciences in Bahçelievler Campus, and the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and Faculty of Education in Küçükçekmece Campus. In addition, the Rectorate and administrative units affiliated to the Rectorate are located in the Bakırköy Campus, which is used as the main campus. All campuses of Istanbul Kültür University have the characteristics of a city university, as they are located at the intersection of land, air, sea and rail transportation, and have an easily accessible location and a dense population around it. IKU, which has an international climate, has a total of 13,388 students, 3264 of whom are associate degree students, 8579 undergraduate students and 1545 graduate students.
