Istanbul Bilgi University, which set out with the principle of 'Non scholae, sed vitae discimus' (We should learn for life, not for school), was established as a Foundation upon the application made by the Bilgi Education and Culture Foundation on June 7, 1996 and with the law no. 4142 adopted by the Turkish Grand National Assembly. As a university, it took its place within the Turkish University System as an institution with public legal personality.
Istanbul Bilgi University contributes to its students and the academic life in Turkey on a total area of approximately 210,000 m² in 3 campuses, namely Kuştepe, Dolapdere and Çözümistanbul, which it has acquired in various processes since its establishment.
Istanbul Bilgi University, which has achieved many firsts in Turkey in 23 years, entered into a long-term cooperation with Laureate Education, one of the world's largest international education networks, with the aim of increasing the quality of education and research and having a university in Turkey that can compete with the world between 2006 and 2019. became part of this network.
