Why Gumushane University?

Gümüşhane University was established by Law No. 5765, which was published in the Official Gazette dated May 31, 2008 and numbered 26892. Founded in Gümüşhane under the name of Gümüşhane University, the newly established Faculty of Communication under the Rectorate, Gümüşhane Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Gümüşhane Health School (as stated below, later on to the Faculty) Gümüşhane Vocational School, Şiran Vocational School, Gümüşhane Health Services Vocational School, and Kelkit Aydın Doğan Vocational School, which were affiliated to the Rectorate by changing their name and connection while affiliated to the Rectorate of Erzincan University, and the newly established Graduate Education Institute were established under the Rectorate. The name of the Faculty of Engineering was changed to the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences with the decision of the Council of Ministers published in the Official Gazette dated 26.04.2013 and numbered 28629. The Faculty of Tourism was established, with the decision of the Council of Ministers numbered 2016/8562 published in the Official Gazette dated 08.04.2016 and numbered 29678, Gümüşhane Health School was closed and the Faculty of Health Sciences was established instead.
