Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University, one of the most distinguished universities of our country, surrounded by natural beauties between the two metropolises of Turkey, Ankara and Istanbul, was founded on July 3, 1992. Our University, which has been developing rapidly since this date, has campuses in Bolu city center and five districts (Gerede, Mengen, Mudurnu, Yeniçağa and Seben). İzzet Baysal Campus, the central campus of our university, is located in Gölköy, 8 km away from Bolu city center, in a unique natural beauty.

Our university currently has 16 faculties, 1 institute, 1 college, 8 vocational schools and 20 research centers. 1,400+ faculty members and 1,200+ administrative staff working in these units of our university are proud to offer a quality and contemporary education environment to approximately 35,000+ students.

Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University constitutes a third model as a foundation-supported state university alongside the state and foundation universities in our country. Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University, a state university, has been supported by the foundation established by İzzet Baysal, one of Turkey's biggest philanthropists, since its establishment. In addition to the resources of our state, our University has reached an excellent physical structure and superior technological equipment in a short time, with the facility and equipment investment of the İzzet Baysal Foundation, whose total value reached 271 million liras as of 2017. The Foundation, which supports academics' success on an international scale, also provides scholarship support to successful students.

Our university aims to be the fastest developing university in Turkey in order to realize the directive of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey, "to rise above the level of contemporary civilization". For this purpose, our University, which gives priority to carrying out international scientific production, takes care to take national and local needs into account in the education and training process.
